To properly assess and repair a bike, it needs to be reasonably clean so we can visually inspect for cracks and hear how the bike is running. Upon drop-off, if a bike is deemed to be too dirty, beyond what is reasonable, a $30 cleaning fee will be charged.

A note on eBike battery Safety

  • As we have seen a growing number of fires in North America caused by non-certified eBike batteries, we want to lay out our stance on eBike safety:
We are seeing administrations (the latest one being the New York City Council) taking a stance against these tragedies and passing laws that will prohibit the sales of e-bikes, e-scooters and batteries that don't meet recognized certification like UL.
  • UL and CE certifications standards are the two most widely accepted safety protocols for consumer products, including e-bikes and e-bike batteries. UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is mostly seen in North America including the US and Canada, while CE is mandatory in the European Union.
  • UL certification is voluntary, while CE certification is compulsory for a product to be sold in the EU. This means that all the bikes we carry with European sourced motors will be CE certified and will carry a stamp on them, but may not necessarly be UL certified (they will not display the UL certification).
  • All the e-bikes we sell are from reputable brands like Scott, Trek, Orbea, Electra, Opus or Pivot. All these brands use electronic components from reputable vendors like Shimano, Bosch, Fazua or TQ.  Rest assured that all the e-bikes, batteries and chargers that we sell in our physical and online stores meet the necessary safety standards.
  • While we will offer service for non-certified e-bikes and batteries, these bikes cannot stay overnight on our premises.

If you have any questions or concerns about your e-bike safety, contact us at 604-973-1837 to talk with one of our service specialists.
